• In January 2010, the Supreme Court ruled in Citizens United v Federal Elections Commission that money is speech and the more money you have the more free speech are entitled to.
 
• Now corporations can spend unlimited sums to influence elections and to control government. Big Corporations are now flooding the electoral process with oceans of anonymous cash. In 94% of elections, the better-financed candidate won. This is corrupt and profoundly undemocratic.
 
• Citizens United was backed by a small number of very wealthy groups and individuals who want a two-tier society where they control the country's wealth and resources. Meanwhile, 
the 99% are forced to work for stagnating or even declining wages.
