(Oct 5) Joseph Margulies, author of Guantanamo and the Abuse of Presidential Power, is the featured speaker at a public event sponsored by the Democratic Party of Milton Township on Tuesday, 7:00 pm, at the IIT Rice Campus, 201 East Loop Road, Wheaton, IL. Suggested donation, $10 adults, $5 students. Mr. Margulies was lead counsel in Rasul v. Bush, the case in which the Supreme Court of the United States established prisoners at Guantanamo Bay detention camp are entitled to judicial review and the U.S. court system has the authority to decide whether non-U.S. citizens held in Guantanamo Bay were wrongfully imprisoned. Mr. Margulies is an attorney with the MacArthur Justice Center and a Clinical Professor at Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago. For more info contact Marian Tomlinson at 630-771-5553.
