WE, in Downers Grove Township, DuPage County are asking you to help fight for religious freedom and AGAINST Islamophobia.
From my friends at DGTD:
MECCA, the Muslim Education and Cultural Center of America continues to face obstacles to obtain approval for building their center in Willowbrook. Their request has been denied by the Zoning Board of Appeals, approved by the Development Committee, and then pulled from the County Board agenda and sent back to the Development Committee.
Three actions are suggested:
*Attend the Development Committee Meeting, Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 11am at the DuPage County Complex, 421 County Farm Rd, Wheaton
*Call our District 2 and 3 representatives on the County Board and urge them to support the Conditional Use Permit when it comes up on the County Board Agenda.
*Attend the next County Board meeting and speak in public comment in support of MECCA, Tuesday, February 22 at 7:30 pm at 421 County Farm Rd, Wheaton
