Re: [PDI] Fwd: MARCH 25, 7-9 PM ROGER JOHNSTON DEMONSTRATES HOW THE VOTE CAN BE HACKED

*** SENT THROUGH PDI MAILING LIST ***
Thanks for twittering about voting! That is a big step in the right
direction.

We need to minimally have an in precinct 10% audit of all votes cast on
election night. Unfortunately, we have made early voting just so
"convenient" for everyone. This was a response to what happened in OH in
the 2004 election, when people had to wait in lines for hours to vote. Of
course all of this was by design by not putting enough machines at polling
places, especially in minority and college polls.

It will be hard to do away with early voting since "they" have made this now
a "personal" issue--voting on your time, which if denied now becomes an
infringement on one's ability to vote. Early voting is awful, for so many
reasons, but I do not have to tell you the obvious, and something that you
already know.

The best thing to do--tell people that electronic voting is terrible. Give
them the links of the hacks from Hacking Democracy where they do just that.
The more that people know about AND they call their IL legislators, Rep &
Sen. about it the better, since most of the legislators in Illinois do not
know about the evils of electronic voting. THEN we also tell them to
support our legislation, HB1246, and SB1298.

WE FORGET THAT USING OUR INDIVIDUAL TALENTS FOR COLLECTIVE GOAL IS
INSPIRING, AWESOME.

WE CAN DO THIS!

ALL REFORM DEPENDS ON THE VOTE.

Thanks for all of your support....continue to get the word out there.
